  • Chief Executive Officer

    Peter brings to Cann more than 30 years of general management, marketing and commercial leadership roles within global pharmaceutical companies. He has most recently been Head of Asia Pacific for French biopharmaceutical company, Ipsen, where he developed and led the implementation of a successful growth strategy which included the commercial launch of new brands. Previous roles include General Manager of Australia/New Zealand (Ipsen) and senior management positions with Astra/Zeneca, UK and Bristol-Myers Squibb in Europe.

    Peter has a bachelor’s degree in science (pharmacology, immunology) and a diploma in education (science, biology) from Monash University and is a graduate of the INSEAD CEDEP General Management Program.

    Peter was appointed as a Director on the board of Medicinal Cannabis Industry Australia (MCIA), Australia’s peak industry group, in June 2023.

  • Chief Financial Officer & Joint Company Secretary

    Tony Di Pietro was appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer in January 2024, commencing on 8 April 2024.

    In addition to the CFO role, Mr Di Pietro is the joint Company Secretary with Steven Notaro, Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at Cann Group.

    Having spent the past two decades at ASX-listed companies, Mr Di Pietro boasts extensive experience as CFO/Company Secretary in the med-tech industry, with his last three roles at Sienna Cancer Diagnostics Limited (November 2014 – July 2020), INOVIQ Limited (July 2020 – November 2022) and Genetic Technologies Limited (November 2022 – present).

    In his most recent role at Genetic Technologies, Mr Di Pietro managed a capital raising of US $5 million from US-based investors and was responsible for both US and Australian due diligence activities and compliance with both ASX/Corporations Act & NASDAQ/SEC regulations.

    Mr Di Pietro’s qualifications include:

    • A Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Accounting and Finance, from Swinburne University of Technology;

    • Chartered Accountants (CA) accreditation (1989-2000);

    • Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance from the Governance Institute of Australia (2012 - 2014); and

    • Completed the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2018.

  • Head of Legal & Regulatory Affairs

    Steven Notaro is the Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at Cann Group. He is a qualified lawyer, with a background in contract law, intellectual property, consumer law and corporate law.

    Steven joined Cann Group in 2014, where he assisted in the early establishment of the business, including the listing of the Company on the ASX and the granting to Cann of the first medicinal cannabis licence issued in Australia under the Narcotic Drugs Act.

    Steven manages the legal and regulatory affairs of the business.

  • Head of Quality

    Angelos has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 25 years and has broad experience having worked and led teams in areas such as Quality Assurance, Validation, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs and Product Development. This experience includes manufacturing of sterile injectables and tablets. Angelos joined Cann Group Ltd in 2018 and has led the building and development of the Quality function that has since attained TGA GMP licences for two Cann Group manufacturing facilities including laboratory.

    Angelos holds a bachelor’s degree in Science and a Master’s degree in Chemistry. He also holds qualifications in Quality and Validation.

  • Head of Research & Development

    Filippa joined Cann Group in 2018 and has extensive experience in plant biotechnology and taking R&D from lab to marketplace, covering research, product development, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, licensing in and out and global commercialisation.

    She has worked for a number of biotechnology companies (Florigene, NuFarm, Hexima) and academic institutions (La Trobe University, WEHI) and has key expertise in building relationships and managing complex projects with multiple partners in industry and academia.

    Filippa holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Biology and a PhD in plant biotechnology from RMIT University. She is an inventor on 18 patent families.

  • Michael has extensive experience in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and global supply chain management. His journey in the pharmaceutical industry has been marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for innovation. In his most recent role, he played a pivotal role in overseeing the cultivation of poppies for a licit opioid extraction facility.

    Having worked extensively across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, Michael possesses a comprehensive understanding of global agricultural supply chains. His hands-on experience in managing complex supply networks has equipped him with the skills needed to navigate diverse cultural, regulatory, and logistical challenges. Michael's leadership in optimizing agricultural operations has consistently resulted in increased efficiency and sustainable practices.

    Michael holds a Bachelor of Science with a focus on Agronomy and Horticulture, showcasing his strong foundation in agricultural sciences. He also has a Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness.

  • GM - Mildura

    Russell has worked across all levels in a variety of pharmaceutical manufacturing businesses. This has included leading teams in the high-security process based opiates industry, to sterile manufacturing and topicals. Before moving to Mildura to take on site management he was heavily involved in site engineering and delivery of CANN’s first GMP qualified manufacturing facility.

    Russell undertook his undergraduate and PhD at Utas, with majors in both botany and chemistry.

    Sally is a HR professional with over 10 years’ experience working across various industries including Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Consulting and Higher education.

    She has worked across all levels of operational and strategic HR, her areas of expertise include recruitment and workforce planning, employee relations, organizational development, and offshore team management.

    Sally joined Cann Group in 2019, and has been managing the People portfolio since, supporting the expansion and growth of the business particularly at the Mildura flagship facility.

    She completed her PhD (Business Management) at RMIT University where she has been working as a sessional Academic member since 2012. Sally also holds Master of Business Administration (HR).

    Carlyn has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry across sales, marketing, and leadership roles. She has navigated both start-up and big pharma environments and collaborated extensively with global marketing teams. Her expertise lies in strategic product development, commercialisation, and launches in the Australian market.

    Carlyn's commitment to advancing healthcare extends to her voluntary role at the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI), where she serves as a Consumer Advisor for the National Drug Discovery Centre (NDDC) and actively participates in several blood cancer project teams.

    She holds an undergraduate degree in Science, a Master's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics, with notable research contributions in HIV/AIDS at the Alfred Hospital, and postgraduate qualifications in Business Management.
